Fair Copyright For Canada

I've been complaining about Copyright or should I say the misuse of Copyright by large Corporations for many years. Here we are in 2008 and our Government wants to amend the Copyight Act again. Will they get it Right this time?

Government of Canada Proposes Update to Copyright Law : Balanced Approach to Truly Benefit Canadians On June 12, 2008, the Government of Canada introduced long-overdue and much-needed amendments to the Copyright Act that will bring it in line with advances in technology and current international standards. The bill fulfills the government's commitment in the 2007 Speech from the Throne to improve the protection of cultural and intellectual property rights in Canada, including copyright reform. Well here we are and some of you might be wondering what all the fuss is about, after all the proposed Update to the Canadian Copyright Act will be a balanced approach. I can only speak for myself and I feel that Bill C-61 - An Act to amend the Copyright Act is Dangerous and must never be allowed to pass. Bill C-61 Taking action for fair Copyright In Canada has to be done. Bill C-61 Truly Doesn't Benefit All Canadians. -R.h.oZ
